Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Traffic Control Specialist to support traffic control plan (TCP) permitting for projects in Austin, Texas. The specialist will review TCPs prepared by an offshore team and ensure they are accurate, complete, and compliant with City of Austin requirements before permit submission. This is primarily a technical review and quality-control on the TCP Plans Key Responsibilities Review TCPs for compliance with City of Austin requirements and applicable traffic-control standards. Check lane closures, traffic routing, signage, pedestrian access, work zones, dimensions, notes, and sequencing. Identify technical errors, missing information, and compliance issues. Provide clear correction comments to the offshore TCP team. Review revised plans and confirm corrections have been completed. Ensure TCP packages are complete and submission-ready. Support permit comments, revisions, and resubmissions. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, permitting staff, and the offshore team. Maintain review checklists and track TCP status. Required Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications Experience reviewing, preparing, or submitting Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) . Strong knowledge of work-zone traffic control, lane closures, signage, pedestrian accommodations, and right-of-way requirements. Ability to read and interpret civil, utility, construction, and traffic-control drawings. Experience identifying TCP errors and providing technical corrections. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple plan reviews and deadlines. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with offshore teams. Direct experience with City of Austin TCP requirements and permitting processes . Experience with utility, telecommunications, civil construction, or right-of-way projects. Experience responding to permit comments and managing TCP resubmissions. Familiarity with applicable MUTCD and local traffic-control standards.
