We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day. We make decisions that affect our transportation system, ensure the safety and well-being of our seniors, connect people to jobs, help families recover from natural disasters, preserve water quality for our children, and so much more. We work to make the region a great place to live, work, and thrive. What will I be doing? ü Research and catalog regulations, policies, and ordinances that impact land use and transportation. ü Catalog model housing and multi-modal transportation practices, policies, and projects in the eight County Metropolitan Transportation Organization region, and how they can be applied to the Livable Centers program. ü Identify policies, regulations and best practices that can advance Livable Centers principles and implementation. ü Research funding opportunities and tools communities can use to implement different revitalization strategies. ü Assist with compiling grant sources and grant matchmaking. ü Assist in management of consultant contracts for Livable Centers studies. ü Participate in one-on-one relationships and targeted meetings with local Livable Centers sponsors and future partners throughout the region. ü Provide support to prepare and deliver presentations, workshops, maps, flyers, and web materials. ü Other communication or coordination support for the Community and Environmental Planning Department as requested. Key Qualifications ü Experience with ArcGIS. ü Basic understanding of urban planning and/or community development principles. ü Experience developing plan documents and managing report development. ü Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to perform in a team environment. ü Strong communication and presentation skills Do you have… ü Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline or related field of study ü 3 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school, or in job-related duties Preferred Qualifications ü 5 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, school, or in job-related duties All employees of H-GAC are required to reside within the agency's region of service to support our commitment to excellence in service of our region.
