Job Description
Use your writing, empathy, and organizational skills to make a real difference If you're at a point in your career where meaningful work matters as much as professional growth, this role offers both. As a Social Security Disability Claims Specialist , you'll help individuals navigate one of the most challenging systems they'll ever face — and you'll be the advocate who makes sure they're not doing it alone. We're looking for someone who communicates clearly, writes well, and cares deeply about helping people secure the support they need. Whether you're seeking part‑time , full‑time , or hoping to grow from part‑time into full‑time , we're open to the right fit. What You'll Do Guide clients through gathering and organizing documentation for SSDI and SSI claims. Prepare and file initial disability applications with the Social Security Administration. Review denied claims and craft strong, well‑supported appeals, including reconsiderations and hearing requests. Communicate with clients to clarify missing information and keep cases moving forward. Track deadlines, regulations, and case progress to ensure full compliance. Maintain accurate spreadsheet data for office statistics and reporting. What You Bring Experience in claims processing, appeals, case management, or a related field (preferred). Strong writing and communication skills — you're comfortable explaining complex processes in a human, accessible way. The ability to manage multiple cases with calm, steady organization. High attention to detail and solid follow‑through. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to type at least 50 wpm. A genuine desire to support people during vulnerable moments. Bonus Skills Experience with advocacy groups, social services, or client‑focused roles. Customer service background. Associate degree (preferred). Bilingual abilities (a plus). Benefits Paid holiday, sick, and vacation time Dental and vision coverage Long‑term disability plan Life insurance Retirement savings plan Additional optional coverages

You'll join a supportive, mission‑driven team that believes in advocacy, dignity, and doing right by the people we serve. If you want your work to have purpose — and you're ready to use your writing, empathy, and organizational strengths to help others — we'd love to meet you.Job Type:
