Summary:
The Marsh Manager has overall responsibility for management of their assigned cranberry operation(s). The Marsh Manager role is one of short-term and long-term planning that incorporates budgeted and capitalized investments, with the objective of improving operational efficiencies. Output is expanded through increased production from new growing techniques, with attention to cost containment. Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the Marsh Operations manager. Accountability #1 Operations and Property Management (60%) Responsible for providing leadership, direction and coaching to Assistant Managers, as well as other full and part time employees. Responsible for planning all day-to-day activities related to water management, pest management, frost protection, nutrition management, maintenance and repairs of equipment, and human, fruit, and environmental safety. Advances current and new growing practices through necessary means to increase acreage yield and fruit quality. The Marsh Manager is actively involved with the CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) within the company. Responsible for ensuring employee safety and food safety standards are achieved or exceeded by working closely with the Marsh Operations Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, and Safety Manager. Works cooperatively with the Marsh Operations Manager, other Marsh Managers, and Administrative Personnel. Operate and maintain agricultural equipment and implements, heavy machinery, and forklifts. Equipment fabrication, welding, and repair. Accountability #2 Managerial (20%) Manages the Assistant Manager, full and part time employees. Is responsible for the overall operational direction and performance of the agricultural operation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Accountability #3 Communications (10%) Promptly informs the Marsh Operations Manager of known or anticipated impacts to the business that will negatively impact the crop, revenue, profits, or operations. Communicates necessary operational issues to Marsh Operations manager on a consistent basis. Acts as a problem solver and team player. Must have good written and verbal communication skills Knowledge with a personal computer, Word, Excel, and Power Point. Keeps Marsh Operations Manager abreast of significant issues or developments identified during routine activities and actions being taken to improve the situation Accountability #4

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to work outside in all types of weather. Will be on feet for the majority of the workday. The typical workday is 8 to 10 hours with additional hours as needed based on job requirements.
