Overview Join our dynamic educational team as a Student Advisor, where you will play a vital role in guiding students through their academic journey and supporting their personal and professional development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with diverse student populations, provide meaningful counseling, and ensure compliance with educational policies. Duties Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support students' academic progress, career planning, and personal development. Assist students in navigating institutional systems such as Student Information Systems (SIS), PeopleSoft, and Ellucian platforms to access resources and manage their records. Conduct educational workshops and presentations on topics like career counseling, academic advising, and compliance regulations. Mentor students by offering guidance on educational pathways, balancing coursework, and overcoming challenges. Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to ensure students receive comprehensive support aligned with institutional policies. Maintain accurate documentation of student interactions, advising notes, and compliance reports in accordance with mandated reporting laws. Stay informed about educational regulations, school policies, and cultural considerations to provide compliant and sensitive support to a diverse student body. Experience Proven experience working within an academic institution or educational administration environment. Strong public speaking skills for delivering presentations and conducting workshops confidently. Demonstrated ability in interviewing students to assess needs and develop tailored support strategies. Proficiency with student information systems such as PeopleSoft or Ellucian, along with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and communication purposes. Experience mentoring or providing counseling to individuals or groups from diverse cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of academic advising principles, career counseling techniques, and educational compliance standards. Excellent communication and writing skills for clear documentation, reports, and correspondence. Familiarity with university policies, mandated reporting laws, and working within regulatory frameworks related to education. Analysis skills to evaluate student data effectively and recommend appropriate interventions or support services. Pay:
$55,783.47 - $67,180.09 per year
