An Academic or Guidance Counselor provides guidance to students in elementary, middle and high schools to help them succeed academically and socially. Works with school teachers and administrators to address problems that affect student performance, and identifies resources for students and families. Job Description
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school setting Comfort and skill supporting individual students with unique needs Credentialed candidates are strongly preferred and will be prioritized in the hiring process Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach Ability to adapt to the needs of students and the learning environmentKey Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to an assigned student throughout the school day Assist with classroom activities, learning tasks, and social integration Implement teacher-developed strategies and plans to help the student succeed Monitor and document the student's progress Support the student's independence and engagement in academic and social activities Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure the student's needs are met This contract role offers the security of a set assignment through late 2026, with potential for extension as needs evolve.
