In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Responsibilities Provide in-class support to teachers through small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects Mentor and coach students to build social-emotional skills and support attendance and engagement Plan and lead small-group interventions and after-school enrichment activities Build positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and school staff Track and document student progress and participation using program tools and data systems Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and team meetings Support school-wide events, initiatives, and a positive school climate Model City Year's values of inclusivity, service, and social justice in daily interactions Required Skills Tutoring and academic support (reading, writing, math) Youth mentoring and counseling Classroom management support Lesson and activity planning Data entry and basic progress monitoring Communication (verbal and written) Teamwork and collaboration Cultural competency and working with diverse populations Time management and organization Basic technology skills (e.g., Google Workspace, email, virtual learning platforms)
