An Academic or Guidance Counselor provides guidance to students in elementary, middle and high schools to help them succeed academically and socially. Works with school teachers and administrators to address problems that affect student performance, and identifies resources for students and families. Helps high school students to plan academic course work and advises on the college search and application process.

Responsibilities Provide individual and small-group counseling for students. Support students' social-emotional, behavioral, and academic success. Implement age-appropriate social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives. Partner with families, teachers, and administrators to develop student support plans. Respond to student crises and coordinate appropriate interventions and referrals. Participate in Student Support Team (SST), MTSS/RTI, and school intervention planning. Promote a positive, inclusive school culture rooted in kindness, respect, and responsibility. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events while supporting the mission of HHAI. Qualifications Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field. Indiana licensure (or eligibility) required. Experience working with children in a school or counseling setting. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice. Experience in independent or faith-based schools and familiarity with Jewish culture are a plus.
