Job Description

Georgetown College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in School Counseling within our new Counselor Educationmaster's program. We are seeking a faculty member with expertise in School Counseling who is excited about the opportunity to help developand launch the School Counseling program at GC. The successful candidate will contribute to graduate teaching, student advising andmentorship, curriculum development, clinical supervision, scholarship, professional and institutional service, and the continued developmentof the Counselor Education program and its pursuit of CACREP Accreditation. The program is delivered entirely online through acombination of synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences. An in-person faculty presence is preferred; however, highly qualifiedcandidates who can effectively contribute to a fully online program may be considered for a remote appointment.
EssentialQualifications:
Earned Ph. D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program. Demonstratedexpertise/specialization in School counseling. Experience with CACREP accreditation. Experience teaching graduate levelcounseling courses. Demonstrated ability to teach in a fully online environment using synchronous and asynchronous instructionalmethods. Eligibility for or possession of appropriate professional credentials related to counseling/and or schoolcounseling. Demonstrated commitment to graduate student advising, mentorship, and professional development. Evidence ofscholarly activity.
Responsibilities:
Teach courses primarily related to School Counseling, whilecontributing to the broader Counselor Education curriculum as appropriate. Contribute to the development and implementation of thenew School Counseling specialization. Develop and deliver engaging online instruction through synchronous and asynchronousformats. Advise and mentor graduate counseling students. Support students through practicum, internship, and professionaldevelopment experiences. Contribute to curriculum development and continuous program improvement. Participate inCACREP-related planning, assessment, documentation, and accreditation activities. Maintain an active program of scholarshipappropriate to the candidate's academic rank. Participate in college, program, and professional service. Support studentrecruitment and retention efforts. Develop and maintain relationships with schools, school districts, professional organizations,and other community partners. Collaborate with faculty colleagues to support the continued development and growth of the CounselorEducation program. Georgetown College is a private, Christian, liberal arts institution and emphasis is placed on teachingexcellence in a diverse context. It is located in the small college town of Georgetown, Kentucky, just 12 miles north of Lexington. Georgetown College is developing a new, fully online Counselor Education program designed to prepare ethical, competent, and culturallyresponsive professional counselors. The program currently offers a Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialization and is expanding itsofferings to include School Counseling. The program incorporates both synchronous and asynchronous instruction, providing students with theflexibility of online education while maintaining meaningful opportunities for faculty engagement and professional development. As agrowing program, faculty will have an important opportunity to help shape curriculum, develop the School Counseling specialization,establish community partnerships, and contribute to the program's pursuit of CACREP accreditation.
