Job Description
After School Counselor
Monday-Friday | 2:30-5:30 PM
Sacred Heart STEM School is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable After School Counselor to lead a small group of up to 13 scholars in our after school program.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to be part of a warm, mission-driven school community. The Counselor will create a fun, safe, and engaging afternoon experience that includes homework support, enrichment, recreation, and opportunities for scholars to build friendships and independence.
Responsibilities
Supervise and lead a group of up to 13 scholars in a safe, positive, and engaging environment.
Support scholars with homework and academic activities.
Lead games, activities, crafts, STEM projects, and other enrichment experiences.
Build positive relationships with scholars while maintaining clear and consistent expectations.
Communicate with families and school staff as needed.
Follow school safety, supervision, and behavior expectations.
Support the mission and Catholic identity of Sacred Heart STEM School.
Qualifications
Experience working with children preferred.
Energetic, patient, responsible, and dependable.
Strong communication and classroom/group-management skills.
Able to create a positive environment while maintaining appropriate boundaries and expectations.
High school diploma required; college coursework or degree in education, child development, or a related field preferred.
Commitment to the mission and values of Sacred Heart STEM School.
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 2:30-5:30 PM
All candidates must complete a background check through EEC before an offer of employment can be extended.

$17 to $19 Per Hour
