Start Date:
September 1, 2026 Using the ASCA standards, responsibilities include:
  • Implement a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate school counseling program addressing the academic, social-emotional, college and career, and developmental needs of students in grades 6 - 8 through individual, small-group, and schoolwide services
  • Collaborate with students, families, teachers, administrators, school-based service providers, and community providers to identify needs, develop interventions, coordinate services, make appropriate referrals, and promote student success
  • Support college, career, and civic readiness through career exploration, academic planning, transition activities, and development and maintenance of students My Career and Academic Plans (MyCAP)
  • Support students with transitions into middle school and from middle school to high school
  • Respond appropriately to student safety and crisis concerns
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential data and documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and district requirements
  • Participate in the ongoing development and evaluation of the comprehensive school counseling program, professional learning, and school and district initiatives
  • Serve as case manager for assigned 504 plans, including coordinating meetings, monitoring accommodations, communicating with families and staff, and ensuring implementation
  • Provide counseling, consultation, and other student support services to students with 504 plans and IEP's, as assigned, in collaboration with special education staff and other members of the student support team
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
