The position applies experience in problem-solving and communications to benefit department operations and curriculum.
The job includes:
Counseling students individually in personal/social, academic and career/college realmsWorking with students in career and post-secondary planning; writing recommendations for private school, college, employment and other programs; submitting applications electronicallyDeveloping and teaching guidance seminar curriculum and parent presentationsWorking with students to develop their academic schedulesConsulting with teachers and parents regarding students academic, emotional and behavioral programsWorking closely with special educators regarding students IEPs and educational progress; reviewing testing; updating education plans; managing 504sAssisting in coordinating practice ACT, PSAT, and AP Successful candidates will have:

Valid or pending Massachusetts DESE Guidance licensureExperience working with high school students as a guidance counselor Experience building collaborative relationships with both parents and professionalsExperience using Naviance and student information systemsExcellent writing and communication skills Compensation and Benefits This is a school-year role (184 days over a full school year), represented by the Weston Education Association, and entitled to the same salary schedule as teachers and other professional staff. Additionally, the Weston Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package, including subsidized health insurance and participation in the Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement System. Professional growth is ongoing in Weston and supported through multiple opportunities, both internally and externally. Hiring Timeline This position is for the 2026-27 school year.
