Position Title:
Elementary School Counselor (Lower Elementary)
Qualifications:
Required:
Master's Degree in School Counseling
Michigan K-12 Teaching Certificate with NT endorsement or School Counselor License (SCL)
Considered:
Candidates currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Counseling with a minimum of 18 credit hours completed
Responsibilities:
Provide academic, personal/social, and career counseling for students through individual and group sessions
Assist in the planning and delivery of a comprehensive counseling curriculum
Use a variety of instructional and support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and community stakeholders to support student development
Participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and 504 processes, including monitoring and scheduling
Identify students in need of additional support and coordinate appropriate interventions
Provide brief counseling and refer students/families to external resources when needed
Lead career awareness and development initiatives
Stay current on technology use in counseling and participate in professional learning
Maintain ethical and legal standards of the school counseling profession
Compensation:
Per Clinton Education Association (CEA) Contract
