An Academic or Guidance Counselor provides guidance to students in elementary, middle and high schools to help them succeed academically and socially. Works with school teachers and administrators to address problems that affect student performance, and identifies resources for students and families. Helps high school students to plan academic course work and advises on the college search and application process.

Early Elementary (Grades K-2)School Counselor or Social Worker Beginning:
2026-27School Year Essential Duties:
- Student support and case management
- Liaison between families and school for collaborating processes in the educational setting
- Analyze appropriate assessment results with staff and students
- Connecting, communicating and monitoring students/ families with appropriate outside support agencies
- Providing/connecting parents with parenting and educational services
- Providing/connecting students with appropriate support services
- Facilitating student intervention meetings/process in conjunction with building administrator
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed
- Maintains required records
- Completes student risk assessments
- Other duties as appropriate or as assigned
- Assist with scheduling in PowerSchool as needed
Education and Experience:
- Must have the appropriate endorsements.
