9674713-38668 Job Description Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting high school students as a school counselor for the academic year. Work on-site at a single campus, offering comprehensive guidance services to a caseload of approximately 300 enrolled students. This full-time role consists of 40 hours per week across a typical five-day schedule, starting immediately and continuing through June. In this position, you'll play a pivotal part in helping students navigate their academic, social, and career development, in accordance with state standards. As you work in close collaboration with educators and families, your support ensures students are set up for success both inside and outside the classroom.

Qualifications & Experience:

Active Mississippi standard teacher's license required Previous experience as a school counselor in a high school setting is preferred Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Understanding of counseling best practices, confidentiality, and student advocacy Ability to work collaboratively with staff, administration, and families

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling services to high school students Implement programs and strategies aligned with Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) standards Facilitate student academic planning, social-emotional support, and crisis intervention when necessary Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and caregivers to address individual student needs Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with school policies Participate in staff meetings and professional development relevant to student support services This role offers the chance to make a direct and lasting difference in the lives of high schoolers, all while working on a welcoming campus.
