This short-term contract offers flexibility and the unique opportunity to provide essential counseling services while a long-term educational placement decision is arranged. Ideal for skilled school counselors seeking a focused, temporary assignment, this role delivers both structure and autonomy.
Qualifications and Skills:
Active certification or licensure as a school counselor Demonstrated experience supporting elementary-aged students, particularly in an online or virtual setting Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries with students remotely Knowledge of effective counseling strategies for youth facing transitions Excellent communication skills and discretion in all digital interactions Comfort with flexible scheduling and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver one hour per week of direct virtual counseling to the assigned student Document and report progress and observations in accordance with district guidelines Coordinate with necessary service providers involved in the student's care, as needed Offer additional indirect support time for consultation, documentation, and team collaboration Adjust approach as necessary based on the student's needs and the evolving timeline of placement This role is designed to provide stability and guidance to a student during a time of change. The assignment may last from a couple of weeks up to one month and is subject to adjustment depending on placement progress.
