Position Summary Transforming Lives Inc. is seeking a motivated and compassionate Scholar Success Specialist to provide school-based academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and student success support to children and adolescents. The Scholar Success Specialist works directly with students who may be experiencing academic difficulties, behavioral challenges, attendance concerns, social-emotional needs, or other barriers to success. The Specialist builds positive relationships, provides individualized coaching and skill development, monitors progress, and collaborates with school personnel and families to help students achieve academic and personal goals. This position requires a bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related behavioral health, education, or human services field. A master's degree and professional mental health licensure are not required. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop positive, supportive, and professional relationships with assigned students.
• Provide individualized support to students experiencing academic, behavioral, attendance, social, or emotional challenges.
• Help students identify barriers to success and develop practical strategies to address them.
• Teach and reinforce organization, time management, study habits, problem-solving, communication, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, and decision-making skills.
• Help students establish realistic academic, behavioral, and personal goals and provide consistent encouragement and accountability.
• Reinforce positive behavior, attendance, academic engagement, responsible decision-making, independence, confidence, and resilience. Academic and School Success
• Monitor student academic performance, attendance, behavior, and engagement.
• Help students develop strategies for completing assignments, preparing for assessments, managing workloads, and improving academic performance.
• Assist students in understanding school expectations and developing routines that support consistent attendance and participation.
• Coordinate with teachers and other school personnel to identify academic concerns and appropriate supports.
• Connect students with tutoring, academic interventions, credit recovery, extracurricular activities, and other school resources when appropriate.
• Support students in developing educational and career goals appropriate to their age and grade level. Behavioral and Social-Emotional Support
• Help students identify triggers and patterns that may contribute to behavioral or academic difficulties.
• Teach and reinforce coping, conflict-resolution, communication, and emotional-regulation strategies.
• Use strengths-based, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate approaches.
• Reinforce behavioral strategies and student support plans established by school or behavioral health professionals.
• Recognize when a student's needs require intervention by a school counselor, mental health professional, administrator, or other qualified professional and facilitate appropriate referral.
• Follow established procedures for responding to student safety concerns. Student Success Planning and Progress Monitoring
• Participate in developing individualized student success goals and support plans.
• Monitor and document progress related to academics, attendance, behavior, engagement, and social-emotional functioning.
• Review progress with students and help identify accomplishments, challenges, and next steps.
• Adjust support strategies in collaboration with supervisors and school personnel when students are not making expected progress. School and Family Collaboration
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school counselors, mental health professionals, special education staff, attendance personnel, and other school team members.
• Participate in student support, multidisciplinary, attendance, behavioral, or academic meetings as appropriate.
• Communicate relevant student progress and concerns to appropriate school and Transforming Lives Inc. personnel.
• Engage parents, guardians, and caregivers as appropriate regarding student strengths, challenges, progress, and goals.
• Help connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources. Documentation and Program Compliance
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of student contacts, interventions, progress, and outcomes.
• Maintain student progress notes, goal tracking, attendance information, behavioral data, and other required records.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow Transforming Lives Inc. and school policies regarding student safety, professional boundaries, and mandated reporting.
• Participate in supervision, team meetings, training, professional development, and program evaluation activities. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology or a related field.
• Related fields may include Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Science, Education, Sociology, Child and Family Studies, Human Development, or another closely related field approved by Transforming Lives Inc.
• Ability to work effectively with children and adolescents in a school environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and accurate documentation. Preferred Experience
• Experience working with children or adolescents in education, behavioral health, human services, mentoring, youth development, or community-based settings.
• Experience supporting students with academic, attendance, behavioral, or social-emotional challenges.
• Experience providing mentoring, coaching, case management, or individualized student support.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma-informed practices, and positive behavioral supports.
• Experience collaborating with teachers, families, school counselors, and other student-support professionals. Additional Requirements
• Successfully complete required criminal background checks and child-protection clearances.

Complete required orientation, student safety, crisis response, confidentiality, and program-specific training.

Pay:

$50,964.81 - $53,000.00 per year
