Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth as a Full-time School Guidance Counselor in a vibrant educational setting near Irwin, PA. Start as soon as possible and continue through the end of the school year. In this contract role, you'll use your expertise to provide personalized guidance and help create a positive school environment, with the potential to build strong relationships by primarily serving one building.
What you bring:
- Valid state certification as a School Counselor
- Previous experience as a Guidance Counselor in a K-12 or secondary setting
- Familiarity with counseling best practices and a passion for student advocacy
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to conduct individual and group counseling sessions
- Organizational skills and flexibility to navigate varying student needs
- Commitment to upholding student confidentiality and ethical standards Your key responsibilities:
- Foster a safe, supportive space where every student can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially
- Provide individual and group counseling to address students' concerns, from academics to peer issues
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to develop and implement action plans
- Support students in setting and achieving academic goals
- Identify and respond to students in crisis, connecting them with appropriate resources
- Help design and lead school-wide initiatives around wellness and personal development
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring students' privacy Offering a competitive hourly pay of $40-$55 and full-time hours, this contract role is an excellent opportunity for passionate professionals who value direct, ongoing student engagement.
