Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class academic support and tutoring in core subjects Lead small group and one-on-one interventions for students Support teachers with classroom management and learning activities Build positive relationships with students to encourage engagement Track and report student progress and attendance data Assist with school-wide events and positive school climate initiatives Facilitate or support after-school and enrichment programs Collaborate with teammates and school staff on service plans Participate in City Year training, coaching, and reflection sessions Uphold City Year, AmeriCorps, and school policies and standards of conduct Tutoring and academic support (math, reading, writing) Classroom support and basic classroom management Youth mentoring and relationship building Data tracking and basic progress monitoring Communication (written and verbal) Team collaboration and conflict resolution Time management and organization Basic technology skills (email, spreadsheets, virtual platforms) Cultural competence and working with diverse communities Facilitation of group activities or workshops Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (citizenship or legal permanent residency) Ability to pass background checks required by AmeriCorps and school district Completion of City Year pre-service and ongoing training programs
