School Counselor Location:
Summerville, SC 29486
Duration:
37 weeks with possible extension.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:00 PM | 37.5 Hours/Week We are seeking a dedicated School Counselor to support students for the remainder of the 2026-2027 school year . This is a full-time opportunity for a compassionate professional who is committed to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional well-being. Job Responsibilities Provide counseling and support services to students in a school setting. Assist students with academic, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions as appropriate. Assess student needs and develop appropriate support strategies. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and other school staff. Help students develop academic and personal goals. Provide guidance related to educational planning and student development. Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation. Identify students who may need additional support or community resources. Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment. Requirements Previous experience as a School Counselor or Guidance Counselor preferred. SC State License required. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with students, families, teachers, and school administration. Strong understanding of student counseling and support services. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information professionally. Must be available for the full-time Monday-Friday schedule.
