The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to students in their academic, social, and emotional development. This role involves working closely with students, parents, and faculty to create a positive school environment that fosters growth and learning. The School Counselor will also implement programs that promote mental health awareness and provide guidance on personal and academic challenges. Duties Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify student needs and develop appropriate interventions. Provide crisis intervention support as needed. Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress. Organize workshops and seminars on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, and study skills. Advocate for students' needs within the school community. Facilitate referrals to outside agencies when necessary. Engage in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in school counseling. Qualifications Previous experience working with children in educational settings is highly desirable. Skills in babysitting, sports coaching, first aid, tutoring, theater arts, childcare, Christian counseling, camp leadership, or daycare experience are a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly. Knowledge of child development principles and counseling techniques.
