- Full-time Job Summary The Academic Advisor works closely with the principal and teachers to assign classes, monitor academic progress, and ensure the accuracy of all HS transcripts.
The Academic Advisor supports teachers in monitoring student progress of all students. This position is responsible for facilitating regular meetings to discuss and implement academic interventions and to monitor and evaluate student progress.

a high level of professional commitment to the school's vision organizational skills and the ability to work closely and cooperatively with fellow staff members and the principal. a strong insight and understanding of the needs of upper school teachers and students. the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups; and the ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) with diverse groups (i.e. staff, parents, and community members) 2. Candidates must be willing to make a one-year commitment to serve in this position. 3. Candidates must have a Master's Degree in Counseling, Guidance, Education, Social Work or a related field or a Bachelor's Degree with extensive experience working with youth.
Performance Responsibilities:
Promote the mission and vision of the school Model and teach a growth mindset Evaluates transcripts of all new students Assist in pre-registration of high school students Ensure the accuracy of student transcripts and timely distribution of them to colleges/universities Guide students in updating and maintaining their high school four-year diploma plans Facilitates class scheduling of new students Facilitate the PSAT Conduct or facilitate conferences with teachers, students, and parents as needed Conduct or provide opportunities for parent education programs Interpret standardized test results and information for students, parents, and teachers Notifies accommodations coordinator prior to starting or changing placement of 504 students, respectively Coordinates records requests in support of the Admissions Office/Registrar Collaborate with counselors, principal, attendance, and registrar to monitor students' progress Proactively works with students in post-secondary planning Communicate with other schools and agencies on behalf of students Acts as liaison and facilitates transition to post-secondary activities, including schooling, military, and vocational Maintains records in student management system documenting progress and interventions Conduct family admissions interviews Other duties as assigned.
