The network's schools in Midland, TX, Sam Houston and South, are each looking for a counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. The duties of a counselor include: Counsel students, parents, and guardians for the purpose of enhancing student success, academically, socially, and emotionally, in school Counsel individuals and small groups of children toward social and emotional growth Support students (and staff) with life events that negatively impact a student's health, welfare, or ability to succeed at school Coordinate with teachers, administrators, or community (e.g. courts, child protective services, etc.) for the purpose of providing/receiving requested information and/or making recommendations Monitor students' progress for the purpose of identifying issues and taking appropriate action for increasing student success Prepare reports and correspondence for conveying information and to document activities and provide reference material Support the creation of a safe and positive educational climate in which students may learn Develop Student Learning Plans and support students in accomplishing their learning objectives Support students in the development of habits of success Work with colleagues and the administration to accomplish the school's goals as outlined in the School Action Plan Expand personal leadership skills Participate in professional learning communities and function well as part of a team Read and stay abreast of current topics in education Manage student behavior in the school by invoking approved disciplinary procedures when appropriate As part of the leadership team, assist the principal and assistant principal in the day-to-day operation of the school Assist with internal and external communications Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with test administration The minimum salary for a counselor with at least three years of demonstrated achievement results is $70,000. We also provide health, dental, and vision for only $75 a month.
