Job Description

Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Make a positive impact in students' lives as a Behavior Intervention Specialist in a school-based setting near Plano, TX. Desired Background and Skills:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred Valid Texas teaching certification with SPED endorsements Prior experience in special education, social work, counseling, or a closely related discipline Background as a school counselor, LPC, BCBA, or training in psychology/social work highly desired Familiarity with developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) Skilled in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) Proficient in participating in ARD, IEP, RTI, and 504 meetings
Daily Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized BIPs for students in need of behavior supports Conduct FBAs to identify function of behavior and guide targeted interventions Collaborate with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to provide coaching and support, ensuring strategies are consistently applied Lead and participate in meetings focused on student support and compliance (ARD, IEP, RTI, and 504) Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and help create a positive, inclusive classroom climate Enjoy a consistent 37.5 hour workweek and a starting pay of $30+ hourly, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
