Primary Purpose:
Coordinate and facilitate the student admissions, intake, and transition process for the alternative high school campus by reviewing records, conducting enrollment interviews, communicating with students and families, and ensuring timely placement and support services that promote student success, attendance, and graduation attainment.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification Bachelor's Degree from accredited University Valid Texas Teacher Certificate, preferred Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of curriculum and instruction Ability to work with students, staff, and parents Ability to interpret data Familiarity with issues related to students at-risk of dropping out of school Awareness and ability to access community agencies and organizations Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills Ability to speak Spanish, preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Student Admissions and Enrollment Coordinate the intake and admission process for students referred to the alternative education campus Review referral documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with district and state requirements. Schedule and facilitate admission conferences with students, parents/guardians, campus administrators, and appropriate staff. Explain program expectations, student rights and responsibilities, attendance requirements, behavioral expectations, and graduation pathways Maintain accurate student enrollment and withdrawal records. Ensure timely placement of students in accordance with district procedures. Student Transition Support Develop transition plans for students entering and exiting the alternative education program. Collaborate with sending and receiving campuses to support student success. Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with campus staff regarding transition readiness. Assist with re-entry meetings and documentation when students return to their home campuses. Collaboration and Communication Serve as a liaison among district campuses, administrators, counselors, families, probation officers, community agencies, and other stakeholders. Maintain positive communication with parents and guardians throughout the admission and transition process. Coordinate with counselors, social workers, special education staff, Section 504 coordinators, and other support personnel as needed. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and staffing conferences. Compliance and Recordkeeping Ensure compliance with Texas Education Code, district policies, and applicable federal and state regulations. Maintain confidential student records in accordance with FERPA and district guidelines. Prepare reports related to student admissions, enrollment, attendance, and program outcomes. Assist with district and state audits by maintaining accurate documentation Student and Family Support Connect students and families with appropriate academic, behavioral, mental health, and community resources. Promote student engagement and family involvement throughout the placement process. Provide information regarding available district support service Professional Growth and Development Participate in professional development activities to improve job-related skills and demonstrate interest and initiative in professional improvement. Keep informed of and comply with polices and state, district, and school regulations. Maintain familiarity with district initiatives to better serve the needs of students. Communication Establish and maintain open lines of communication and maintain professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community members; and serve as a liaison for parents and school. Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the district and demonstrates behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible as set out in the Texas Educator Code of Ethics.
