Qualifications:

Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university Completion of a state-approved counselor preparation program Eligibility to obtain the necessary Virginia license or endorsement required by the district Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards Effective communication and interpersonal skills for consulting with families, students, and staff Previous experience in a school setting is preferred but not required

Key Responsibilities:

Provide academic, career, and social-emotional counseling to elementary students Assess individual student needs and monitor progress with care and diligence Consult effectively with families, school staff, and outside service providers to support every childs success Facilitate referrals to additional support services as needed Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and confidential student records in accordance with regulatory requirements
