Key Qualifications:

Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Completion of a state-approved counselor preparation program. Eligibility for a Virginia school counseling license or appropriate endorsement. Strong commitment to student development, academic achievement, and fostering a positive school environment. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with students, families, and faculty. Proven understanding of confidentiality and professional ethics within a school counseling context.

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver academic, career, and social-emotional counseling tailored to elementary students needs. Evaluate student progress, assess needs, and develop appropriate support plans. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student concerns and maximize success. Facilitate and support referrals to outside resources when appropriate. Maintain accurate student records and strictly uphold confidentiality standards. Create a welcoming and supportive environment where each child feels heard and valued. This full-time position consists of 37.5 hours per week and runs from your start date as soon as possible through the end of the academic year.
