Job Description

Empower young students with your guidance and support in a rewarding school setting! An exciting contract opportunity is available for a dedicated School Counselor who is passionate about fostering student growth and well-being. This full-time role begins as soon as possible and extends through May 28, 2027. As a School Counselor, your expertise will make a direct impact on elementary students academic success and social-emotional development. Youll become a key collaborator with families and staff in the school community, helping to build a positive, inclusive learning environment.
What Youll Need:
Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university Successful completion of a state-approved counselor preparation program Eligibility for the Virginia license or relevant endorsement as required by the district Strong assessment skills and the ability to maintain detailed, confidential student records Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Your Role Will Include:
Delivering academic, career, and social-emotional counseling services to students Assessing student needs, setting goals, and tracking progress Collaborating with families, teachers, and school staff to support student success Providing referrals for specialized support and resources as appropriate Upholding strict confidentiality in all student records and communications This is a full-time contract opportunity, working 37.5 hours per week within a dynamic elementary school environment. Caseload details will be determined, ensuring you can give personalized attention to those you serve. Your dedication will help students tackle challenges, build confidence, and find success both in and out of the classroom.
