Consider joining our VSAC team as the Pre-ETS (Pre-Employment and Transition Services) Outreach Counselor! You'll join a team of highly committed, collaborative, and supportive colleagues who are dedicated to student success.

The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) helps Vermonters of all ages prepare and plan for college and career training. This VSAC position is funded by a contract with HireAbility and a grant with Pathways to Partnerships to develop and facilitate post-high school planning workshops to students in Central and Northern Vermont high schools.

VSAC Outreach counselors across our programs meet with students around the state who are often from modest income backgrounds or are first in their family to pursue education after high school. Outreach Counselors support students to explore passions, identify education pathways to promising careers, and ensure they have financial aid to support their goals. The VSAC Curriculum Map is used by Outreach Counselors to sequence and plan learning activities and workshops to ensure sequenced and grade appropriate content.

The VSAC Pre-ETS Outreach Counselor will work with the following contracted school sites: Lamoille High School, CVU High School, Spaulding High School, North Country Union High School, BFA St. Albans, and Burlington High School. This list of contracted schools is expected to shift after the 2026-2027 school year. We are beginning a new model this year where we train specific schools that have displayed readiness to work independently with our content, which will provide us with more opportunities to work with more schools. We are looking for a Pre-ETS Outreach Counselor that lives in Central Vermont or Northern Vermont with a commute that would be less than 2 hours to any of the school sites listed. The Northern Pre-ETS Outreach Counselor is expected to deliver up to 10 workshops at each of the contracted school sites by the end of the school year.

The successful Northern VSAC Pre-ETS Outreach Counselor candidate will:

• Understand and excel at adapting learning activities that best suit the needs of students and school partners.

• Be an effective communicator and teammate, who is open to feedback, collaboration, and flexibility.

The salary for this position is $46,500-48,500 with 9 weeks off, and full benefits, including annual company 403(b) contribution of 10% of your salary plus medical, dental, STD, LTD, Life, and generous paid time off! Please see job description.
