Immediately Job Description 2026 - 2027 School Year 1.0 FTE This position is split between Fircrest Elementary & Home Choice Academy This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. This is a Continuing Position Evergreen Public Schools (EPS) offers the following to eligible employees who work at least 630 hours in a school year: Medical, dental, vision, basic long-term disability, basic life and AD&D insurance through School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Essential Functions:
Provide reading and/or math intervention to flexible groupings of students in grades K-5. Provide intervention services in an inclusionary manner within the classroom. Attend required intervention professional development sessions and meetings. Work collaboratively and effectively with all school teams, community stakeholders and administrators. Maintain a positive relationship with students, staff, parents, and community by modeling respect, cooperation, and professionalism with others, recognizing the personal achievements and professional contributions of others and demonstrating knowledge of a sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all racial, ethnic/cultural, national socio-economic backgrounds. Assist in the screening process and placement of students in the Title I and/or LAP program. Assist with the instructional direction of Paraeducators, if applicalbe. Complete all program records on behalf of the school in an accurate and timely manner. Initiate and support activities for parents and teachers of participating students. Implement and support the Title I and/or LAP programs within grant guidelines and under the direction of building administrators and the Federal Programs Department Leads for inclusive programming for students qualified for special education services and those learning English as a second language. Develops cultural competence and a commitment to equity in outcomes and opportunities for adults and students. Leads for equity towards college and career readiness. Nurtures a school environment that celebrates, respects, and values diversity where teaching and learning are made relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures. Publically draws attention to all equity gaps that exist for various groups of students with plans to address their elimination. Initiates activities and discussions that lead to increased cultural competence of staff, informing and expanding teaching practices within classrooms.
Qualifications:
Valid Washington Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsements; Reading and/or Math endorsement preferred. Demonstrated effectiveness in providing instruction in reading and math, using a variety of structures. Ability to demonstrate effective written and oral communications with diverse community members to include students, staff, parents and community stakeholders. Ability to respond to and engage with a diverse multi-cultural and multi-racial community, and to work side by side and foster strong, positive relationships with parents, staff, students and the public. Demonstrated ability to assess students using a variety of methods and analyze results for intervention design. Minimum three years recent and successful classroom teaching experience at K-3 OR Three years recent and successful experience in providing K-5 intervention. Prefer training and/or experience, or willingness to take course work, in the knowledge and use of effective instructional and management strategies to include: Teaching Learning Cycle and Assessment Driven Instruction Personalization and Workshop Model of Instruction ProjectL.A.D. Multi-Tiered System of Supports Professional Learning Communities Positive Behavior Intervention Support Anti-bias, multicultural experience and education Working with children and families who are culturally, linguistically and racially diverse
