Job Summary Southeast Non-Profit Housing (SENPH) administers the National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) in Alabama. NFJP is a federally funded program under Section 167 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) that helps eligible farmworkers and their dependents gain the training, education, and support they need to secure stable, better-paying employment. The Career Advisor is a participant-facing role that works with each participant from start to finish and is responsible for outreach as well as case management. This includes finding and recruiting farmworkers in the community, determining eligibility and enrolling participants, building individual employment plans, guiding participants through training or job placement, and completing program exit and post-exit follow-up. This is not a desk-only position. The role requires regular outreach in farm and community settings throughout the assigned service area, and consistent follow-up with participants after they exit the program.
V.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Outreach & Recruitment
- Conducts regular outreach and shares program information to farmworkers and farmers across the assigned Alabama service area, including farms, packing houses, agricultural worksites, farmworker housing, churches, and community events.
- Builds referral relationships with community agencies and resource partners to identify and recruit potential participants.
- Screens individuals for program eligibility, collects and verifies required eligibility documentation, and completes the application and enrollment process. Case Management & Participant Support
- Manages an active caseload and keeps each participant moving toward a timely, positive outcome.
- Conduct assessments to identify each participant's barriers, needs, strengths, and career goals.
- Develop plans to help participants reach their career or training goal.
- Provides career counseling, including helping participants set realistic employment goals, along with job search assistance, career exploration, job readiness activities, and resume writing.
- Arranges supportive services and connects participants to community resources that help them stay on track.
- Prepares, executes, and monitors training contracts.
- Conducts program exits and post-exit follow up as participants complete their services, maintain contact and to verify employment, education, or credential outcomes. Documentation & Compliance
- Collects source documentation that validates participant data (credentials, transcripts, employment verification) and maintains accurate, audit-ready records in the grant performance management system and internal trackers.
- Keeps each plan current and documents participant progress in case notes at least monthly.
- Maintains attendance and financial records; completes and submits participant invoices, purchase orders, and vouchers.
- Participates in quality, compliance, and peer file reviews and protects participant confidentiality at all times. Professional Development & Other Duties
- Stays current on workforce trends, labor market information, and industry changes to inform career exploration and service delivery.
- Recommends improvements to services.
- Attend training, workshops, and conferences as directed by the supervisor.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree preferred, or 4 years of experience with service-based nonprofits.
- At least 2 years of experience in human services, workforce development, case management, or a related field.
- Must complete the Workforce Development Apprenticeship and earn the CWDP credential within 18 months of hire.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is encouraged.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance, with willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned service area.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with the ability to learn and accurately use online case management and reporting systems. Core Compentencies

Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
