Job Summary:

The Internship Advisor serves as a University-wide resource and liaison for internship initiatives, providing guidance and support to students throughout the internship process. Advises students on internship exploration, search strategies, application preparation, opportunity evaluation, and preparation for the internship experience. Helps students identify opportunities aligned with their academic interests, career goals, skills, and professional development needs. Develops and facilitates internship-focused workshops and presentations. Creates and maintains student-facing resources, guides, tools, and educational materials. Maintains accurate records of student engagement, programming, partnerships, and other internship-related activities.

Additional Department Summary:

Supports University-wide efforts to expand student awareness of, access to, and preparation for meaningful internship experiences. Builds collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, academic colleges, employers, and other campus partners. Partners with Career Center colleagues and college-based internship contacts. Helps students translate career preparation into meaningful internship experiences while strengthening the network of people, programs, and resources that support internships across campus. Promotes a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher and some experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrated commitment to supporting all students. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present information effectively to students and professional audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in career services, student services, business, human resources management, or counseling; OR Master's degree and one (1) year experience in career services, student services, business, human resources management, or counseling.
