• Full-time School Counselor (ADE School Safety Program Grant) Position Summary Prescott Valley Charter School is seeking an experienced, Arizona-certified School Counselor to serve students through the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) School Safety Program Grant.

This position serves as the school's comprehensive counseling and college/career readiness coordinator, providing academic, social-emotional, and post-secondary counseling while leading graduation planning, dual enrollment, MICTED coordination, and assisting with the development of the school's first Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide individual and small-group counseling to address academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and personal concerns. Implement evidence-based social-emotional learning (SEL), prevention, and student wellness initiatives. Participate on the school's Crisis Response and Threat Assessment Teams. Conduct crisis intervention, suicide risk assessments, and safety planning. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, ESS staff, parents, and community agencies. Monitor attendance, behavior, and academic performance to identify and support at-risk students. Maintain accurate counseling records in compliance with FERPA and professional standards. Coordinate referrals for community mental health services. Monitor each high school student's progress toward graduation and ensure compliance with Arizona graduation requirements. Develop, maintain, and annually update with parental involvement each student's Education and Career Action Plan (ECAP) and Individual Graduation Plan. Conduct regular transcript reviews and credit audits. Coordinate Yavapai College Dual Enrollment opportunities and monitor student eligibility and completion. Coordinate and monitor MICTED Career and Technical Education (CTE) enrollment, participation, and program completion. Advise students and families regarding college admissions, scholarships, financial aid, military, career pathways, apprenticeships, and workforce readiness. Coordinate college campus visits, career exploration field trips, college fairs, and career awareness activities. Coordinate guest speakers from colleges, universities, trade schools, military branches, apprenticeship programs, local businesses, and industry partners. Assist students with college applications, scholarship opportunities, FAFSA resources, resumes, interview skills, and career readiness. Assist with high school course selection, annual registration, transfer credit evaluation, and scheduling recommendations. Coordinate parent conferences regarding graduation status and post-secondary planning. Maintain graduation checklists, transcripts, ECAPs, and academic records. Develop partnerships with colleges, universities, businesses, and workforce organizations to expand opportunities for students. Assist the Superintendent with the planning, development, implementation, and expansion of the charter school's first Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Research ADE CTE requirements, industry certifications, and program approval processes. Assist in developing business partnerships, identifying workforce needs, recommending CTE pathways, and promoting new CTE programs. Complete all reporting required by the ADE School Safety Program Grant. Required Qualifications Master's Degree in School Counseling. Valid Arizona Department of Education (ADE) PreK-12 School Counselor Certificate. Experience as a school guidance counselor or school counselor; high school experience strongly preferred. coordination preferred. Knowledge of Arizona graduation requirements and post-secondary planning. Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a public or charter school. Experience with MTSS, PBIS, restorative practices, and trauma-informed counseling.
