Required Position Overview Our client is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and resourceful Employment Specialist to provide employment-focused support to individuals facing barriers to securing and maintaining employment. This position will provide a combination of case management, career development, job readiness assistance, employment placement, and community-based support . The Employment Specialist will work closely with clients to identify their strengths and career goals, address barriers to employment, and connect them with appropriate resources and employment opportunities throughout the Lancaster/Antelope Valley community. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting vulnerable populations and a strong interest in helping individuals achieve greater independence and long-term employment success. Key Responsibilities Provide field-based and onsite employment-related case management services, including assessments, community integration, employment referrals, benefits assistance, and supportive services. Conduct employability assessments to identify clients' strengths, abilities, interests, work readiness, and barriers to employment. Develop individualized employment goals by considering each client's social support system, cultural background, socioeconomic circumstances, mental health considerations, and other relevant factors. Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized employment plans. Assist clients with identifying suitable career paths, job opportunities, and potential employers. Provide job readiness assistance, including resume development, interview preparation, job search strategies, and workplace expectations. Help clients develop the skills, confidence, and strategies needed to successfully obtain and maintain employment. Connect clients with community resources, workforce development programs, employers, and other supportive services. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete client documentation in accordance with program and organizational requirements. Track client participation, employment activities, placements, and progress toward individual employment goals. Communicate client progress and relevant updates with case management and other members of the service team. Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, employers, community organizations, and internal staff. Identify employment-related barriers and develop practical, individualized strategies to address them. Provide ongoing follow-up and support to encourage employment retention and long-term stability. Participate in community outreach and other employment-related activities as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications At least 1 year of experience providing employment-related services to a vulnerable population. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience providing employment-related services to a vulnerable population. Experience in case management, workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, job placement, supported employment, or career counseling. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or other significant barriers to employment. Familiarity with community-based employment resources and workforce development programs is a plus. Mandatory Requirements Candidates must be able to: Provide employment eligibility verification. Obtain CPR/First Aid certification, if not already certified. Successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including: Tuberculosis testing Background screening Drug screening Driving Requirements Driving is an essential function of this position.
