Folsom Cordova Community Partnership is dedicated to enhancing the education, health and well-being of the children, youth and adults of our community through programs that seek to reduce occurrences of child abuse and neglect and increase opportunities for family self-sufficiency. The Refugee Career Specialist is responsible for providing case management and support to recent arrivals to the United States leading to employment and self-sufficiency. The anticipated start date will be October 1, 2026. The following includes the major job responsibilities of this position. Effectively use computer software and general applications to support work development functions Maintain accurate and timely case files and records Skilled at developing relationships of trust with clients new to United States Conduct assessment and evaluation of clients using interviews and assessment tools Provide ongoing assistance to clients including those with additional needs including but not limited to: Barriers to employment, older workers, limited English speakers, single parents, CalWORKS recipients, emancipating youth, ex-offenders, unemployed and underemployed, etc. Provide advocacy to clients on their way to self sufficiency Review customer applications/resumes to match qualifications with employment specifications Facilitate group meetings, orientations and workshops Assist clients in using resume preparation software, internet job search tools and automated job match systems Develop customer Individual Employment Plans including short and long term career goals, barriers to employment, plans to resolve barriers, transferable skills and job readiness training Produce and administer workshops on pre-employment skills and professional skills Administer and review the results of vocational and employment-related tests designed to identify skills, aptitudes, and interests of eligible participants. Assess customer's employment goals and evaluate them in relation to the customer's current transferable or potential skills and their relevance to local labor market conditions Assess the customer's need for supportive, social and financial services and refer to appropriate resources as needed Support all aspects of overall agency resource development plans and functions Collect program data, reports and evaluations and track outcomes for Grant Reports Participate in agency staff meetings, organizational planning and other agency related functions Maintain positive working relationships with other departments, deal with conflict in a positive and effective manner Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with a wide range of constituents and vendor partners
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual in Dari , Farsi (Highly Preferred) One year of experience in refugee education, employment or social services in either professional or volunteer capacity - Associates Degree can be substituted for experience Preferred one year case management experience and/or familiarity with CalJobs Must be at least 18 years old Must be able to legally work in the United States Clearance of FBI/DOJ background check and Motor Vehicle Record check Must possess a valid California Driver's License and have access to reliable transportation Computer proficient with Windows based systems, Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Internet Excellent organization skills, prioritization and follow through Ability to multi-task and work with multiple customers simultaneously Experienced working with culturally diverse and economically diverse populations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain healthy boundaries Ability to work as part of a diverse, multi-cultural team Folsom Cordova Community Partnership is an equal opportunity employer.' Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of grant funding, program needs, and organizational priorities.
