PM Pay:
$24.00/hour Casa Loma College is seeking a Career Services Advisor to serve as a driving force behind student and alumni success, leading the coordination of comprehensive career services across the college. This role empowers individuals to navigate the job market with confidence—offering expert guidance in resume development, interview preparation, and strategic job search techniques. By cultivating robust employer partnerships and delivering impactful career workshops and job fairs, the advisor creates meaningful pathways to employment and professional growth. Collaborating closely with departments campus-wide, the Career Services Advisor ensures career readiness is woven into the fabric of the student experience. This position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Career Services.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsibilities:
The Career Services Advisor will have excellent interpersonal and behavioral skills, verbal and written communication skills and strong presentation skills. You will have knowledge and understanding of academic programs, operating principles, and procedures. Students/Graduates Obtain, verify, and record placement data of graduates - including but not limited to employment and waiver information. Regularly and consistently produce placements as a result of actively marketing graduates to employers: Present resumes, secure interviews, conduct follow-up with employers and graduates, etc. Work closely with students with activities such as mock interviews, professional workshops, resume writing, and interview preparation. Educate graduates on job search techniques, job market trends, and professional etiquette; provide tangible job search tools, guidance, and assistance as needed. Collaborate closely with graduates to assist with post-graduation job search: develop leads, conduct follow up, review and revise employment documents, etc. Maintain regular and consistent contact with graduates seeking certification and employment. Facilitate Career Development workshops and assist students with preparation and revision of employment documents (Resumes, Cover Letters, Applications, etc.) Employers Develop and maintain relationships with employers and external sites for the purposes of job placement of graduates Consistently developing job leads that result in placement of graduates in their respective field of study Follow up on posted internet and newspaper job leads Provide support to employers seeking to fill positions within their organizations with graduates - conduct employer needs assessment and follow-up on a timely basis Request and gather feedback from employers in the form of surveys, interview feedback, etc. Maintain employer database Generate program interest with local employers Assist in the organization of job fairs on campus, attend outside job fairs, invite employers to speak to current students, and arrange on-campus interviews, if applicable Administrative Participate in Career Services Department meetings Generate placements exceeding 70% of graduates; no less than 70% during the reporting period for the graduates available for placement Provide exceptional customer service to students, employers, graduates, alumni, and staff Adhere to rules and regulations of respective accrediting bodies Accurately record all activities in RGM and college's internal databases Maintain a listing of job position openings and make this list available to graduates Maintain Job Board postings Maintain a placement file for each graduate summarizing graduate activity Prepare and maintain Career Services webpage on College website of career development resources Special projects as assigned by President Attend all required meetings and bi-annual commencement ceremonies
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Work Experience 2+ years of proven success related to advising, sales, or customer relations 2+ years experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Required Skills Associate's degree 2 years' experience in advising. Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree Recruiting experience Employer placement experience
