Essential Job Duties:
Academic Coordinator for a majority caseload of Football student-athletes Evaluate academic risk levels and develops academic and graduation plans for student-athletes and monitor academic progress in accordance with NCAA, conference and University requirements. Meet with individual students and maintain accurate and complete individual files. Implement learning strategies to improve students' academic performance. Work independently providing team support at Canvas Stadium vs. the Anderson Academic Center. Daily awareness of upcoming workload for students and status of submitted assignments. Primary Liaison for Football logistics Primary contact for report requests, daily reports and grade updates. Coordinate academic staff for recruit visits. Coordinate on-boarding of new students. Additional Project support as assigned.
As Football academic support lead, will guide a team of Athletic Academic Coordinators who also work with Football. Oversight of Football student-athletes at daily study hall.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in areas of counseling, education, sports management or related field. OR Bachelor's degree in areas of counseling, education, sports management or related field and at least two years' experience working with high profile sports. 3 years post-graduate experience in a student-athlete support services department at a NCAA Division I FBS school. 2 years of experience with oversight of a program. Knowledge of and experience working with computerized student records.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working as an Academic Coordinator for high profile, high academic risk teams. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Experience in the holistic development of intercollegiate student-athletes. Knowledge and understanding of NCAA graduation rates and NCAA Academic Performance Rates. Proven ability to relate well with students, coaches and faculty. Demonstrated effective management, administrative and decision-making skills. Ability to work collaboratively across the University. Ability to learn quickly and effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
