Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Job Coach/Direct Support Professional to empower individuals with developmental disabilities and autism to achieve their personal and employment goals. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support, mentorship, and training to help clients develop essential skills for independent living and meaningful employment. Your energetic approach will foster a positive environment where clients feel motivated, valued, and confident in their abilities. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on lives while working within a dynamic and supportive team. Duties Assist clients in acquiring job skills through hands-on training, coaching during work placements, and ongoing mentoring to promote independence and confidence. Provide guidance on workplace behavior, communication, and social interactions to enhance clients' integration into community settings or employment environments. Conduct mock interviews with clients to assess progress, identify barriers, and adjust support strategies accordingly. Ability to drive to and from each workplace and transport clients on occasion while assisting with job search or transportation to and from social activities. Assist coworkers by sharing ongoing client obstacles during staff meetings as well as deescalation tactics that have been successful in assisting each client through these obstacles. Experience Prior experience working or spending time around individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred but not required. Knowledge of employment & labor law as it pertains to disability rights and workplace accommodations is essential but can be taught by us prior to working with clients. Proven skills in interviewing, mentoring, recruiting, training & development are important for supporting client growth and team success. Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with diverse populations while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
