Field-Based / Community-Based Position Summary Expert Vocational Insights is seeking a Part-Time Employment Specialist to provide job development, placement, and job coaching services throughout the Central Eastern Colorado and I-70 Eastern Plains region . This is a field-based position requiring regular travel between rural communities. The Employment Specialist supports individuals with disabilities throughout the employment process—from identifying career goals and connecting with employers to providing hands-on job coaching after employment begins.
Primary service area includes:
Limon, Hugo, Simla, Genoa, Arriba, Flagler, Seibert, Stratton, Burlington, Kit Carson, and surrounding communities. Key Responsibilities Meet participants throughout the assigned Eastern Plains territory. Assess strengths, interests, employment goals, and barriers. Conduct individualized job searches and assist with applications and resumes. Provide interview preparation and workplace-readiness training. Conduct employer outreach and build relationships with businesses throughout the region. Attend interviews, hiring events, job fairs, and employer meetings. Support participants through hiring and onboarding. Provide hands-on, one-on-one job coaching at participant workplaces . Teach job tasks, workplace expectations, communication, time management, and professional behaviors. Identify barriers affecting job performance and develop individualized coaching strategies. Promote participant independence and gradually reduce direct support when appropriate. Coordinate with employers, vocational counselors, case managers, families, and other providers. Complete accurate and timely case notes and required documentation. Independently manage regional travel, appointments, employer contacts, and participant deadlines. Qualifications Education or experience in human services, workforce development, recruiting, education, counseling, coaching, case management, or a related field. Strong communication, teaching, organization, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently. Comfortable providing direct support at participant job sites and traveling throughout rural Eastern Colorado. Strong computer and documentation skills. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance. Ability to pass required background checks. Experience in vocational rehabilitation, supported employment, job coaching, disability services, education, behavioral health, DSP services, recruiting, case management, or employer relations is preferred. Work Environment This is a field-based position and is not an office-based role . Regular travel and hands-on job coaching throughout the Eastern Plains are essential job functions. Job coaching may take place in retail, restaurants, grocery stores, warehouses, offices, hospitality, recreation, agricultural-support businesses, and other competitive employment settings. Scheduling must accommodate participant and employer needs and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends.
