Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Springboard Delaware - Georgetown Navigation Center $18-$20/hour | Monday-Friday | Flexible Daytime Schedule | No Weekends Grant-Funded Position Overview Springboard Delaware is seeking a compassionate, recovery-oriented professional with lived experience to serve as a Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) supporting individuals impacted by substance use disorder. This role focuses on providing peer-based recovery support, harm reduction education, and treatment navigation for participants accessing services through the Low Barrier Navigation Center (LBNC). The LBNC serves individuals facing significant barriers to care, including active substance use, homelessness, co-occurring mental health conditions, and elevated overdose risk. This full-time position offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with flexible daytime hours and no weekend requirements. Responsibilities Peer Recovery Support & Participant Engagement Provide one-on-one peer recovery support based on lived experience and recovery principles Build trusting relationships through consistent, nonjudgmental engagement Offer encouragement, emotional support, and recovery-oriented guidance Support participants in identifying personal goals related to recovery, health, and stability Utilize strengths-based approaches and motivational interviewing to support readiness for change Encourage continued engagement with recovery services and support systems Harm Reduction & Overdose Prevention Provide education on overdose risk, safer use practices, and overdose recognition Distribute naloxone (Narcan) kits and provide training on proper use Track naloxone distribution and overdose prevention education for reporting purposes Promote harm reduction practices that reduce overdose risk and support participant safety Treatment Navigation & Service Coordination Assist participants in connecting with treatment programs, detox services, MAT providers, behavioral health care, and primary care Support appointment scheduling and referral coordination Provide follow-up support and warm handoffs to treatment providers when possible Collaborate with Housing Navigators, Employment Navigators, and program staff to support stabilization Documentation & Reporting Document participant contacts, referrals, naloxone distribution, and service outcomes Maintain accurate records in alignment with grant reporting requirements Support basic program data tracking and reporting as needed Requirements Lived experience with substance use recovery required (opioid recovery experience preferred) Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS/CCPRS) preferred or ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe Knowledge of harm reduction practices and recovery-oriented systems of care Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to engage individuals experiencing homelessness, active substance use, or complex behavioral health needs Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and professional ethics Why Join Springboard Delaware?
