Full Job Description Summary:
Talbot House Ministries was established as a place of hope for people who had lost hope: the hungry, the homeless, and the poor. Planting the seeds of hope is something we do with everyone who comes through our doors. The part-time Employment and Training Coordinator is responsible for identifying training/coaching needs and assisting residents and guests with job searches and opportunities for which they are eligible.
Core Responsibilities:
- Forms and maintains partnerships with various businesses and industries, governmental entities, and others who will provide job/career opportunities to understand their job openings and needed qualifications
- Produces accurate and timely reports
- Documents progress toward goals in department data tracking system
- Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities for program effectiveness
- Develop alternate training methods if expected outcomes are not seen
- Reports twelve (12) success stories or positive program client outcomes achieved annually. (i.e., increasing education, gaining employment, and certifications)
- Develop six (6) new partnerships annually
- Completes accurate monthly budget reports
- Performs other duties as assigned
Key Performance Indicators:
- Completes twenty (20) job searches monthly
- Schedules ten (10) interviews a month
- Plans and provides three (3) special training events annually
- Attends two (2) job fairs, including onsite CareerSource briefings, annually

Education and Background:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Two years' experience employment placement/social services
- Experience in adult education or social work, preferred
Physical Requirements:
Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to travel to other locations for business reasons. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Hiring requirements include a criminal records background check clearance. Ability to remain in a stationary position 25 percent of the time. Ability to move throughout the office to access file cabinets, printers, etc. Ability to operate computer and office machinery. Ability to move to multiple floors of a building. Ability to observe details at close range, communicate and exchange accurate information and express oneself so others will understand. Ability to position self to maintain files and operate equipment, which may require bending, standing, walking, kneeling. Ability to move and transport items weighing up to 20 pounds. All positions at Talbot House Ministries require mandatory ongoing training and every employee is required to be available for all scheduled training. In addition, employee attendance is required at all mandatory staff meetings.
Pay:
$18.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 24.0 per week
