Match Support Specialist /
Big Futures Coordinator Reports To:
Vice President of Programs Position Summary The Match Support Specialist/Big Futures Coordinator is responsible for providing ongoing support, guidance, and case management to Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring matches while helping youth prepare for life after high school through the Big Futures program. This position requires someone who enjoys building relationships over the phone, is highly organized, and is comfortable spending a significant portion of the day making phone calls, documenting case notes, and connecting youth and families with valuable community resources. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, compassionate, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping young people achieve their educational, career, and life goals. Essential Job Responsibilities for Match Support Conduct monthly support contacts with Bigs, Littles, and parents/guardians through phone calls, video calls, text messages, and in-person meetings as appropriate. Assess match relationships to ensure child safety, positive relationship development, and compliance with agency standards. Document all contacts accurately and thoroughly in the agency database within required timelines. Identify concerns early and provide coaching, guidance, and intervention when needed. Maintain confidentiality while adhering to agency policies and mandatory reporting requirements. Assist with match closure and transition planning when necessary. Encourage participation in agency activities and events. Big Futures Coordination Support high school students and young adults (approximately 9th grade through age 25) as they explore educational, career, military, apprenticeship, and workforce opportunities. Research and share scholarships, financial aid opportunities, internships, career training programs, apprenticeships, vocational programs, military options, and employment resources. Connect youth and families with community resources that address barriers such as transportation, housing, food insecurity, healthcare, employment, and education. Assist youth in setting and working toward post-secondary education and career goals. Coordinate Big Futures workshops, career exploration activities, college visits, workforce readiness opportunities, and community partnerships. Maintain communication with youth, families, mentors, schools, and community partners to encourage engagement and successful outcomes. Track participant progress and complete all required grant documentation and outcome reporting. Administrative Responsibilities Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation. Meet agency productivity and quality standards for monthly match support. Complete reports and grant documentation in a timely manner. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Assist with agency events and recruitment activities as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, Counseling, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred. Experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, or families preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Comfortable using technology and maintaining electronic documentation. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Knowledge of community resources or willingness to research and develop resource networks. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance required. Preferred Skills The ideal candidate will: Enjoy talking with people and building relationships over the phone. Be comfortable spending several hours each day making outgoing phone calls. Be compassionate while also maintaining professional boundaries. Have strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Be proactive in researching community resources and opportunities for youth. Be detail-oriented and able to complete documentation accurately. Be adaptable and willing to learn new programs and grant requirements. Have a passion for helping youth discover opportunities and reach their full potential. Physical Requirements Primarily a sedentary office position with extended periods of sitting. Ability to work at a computer for extended periods. Frequent telephone communication throughout the workday. Occasional local travel for school visits, match meetings, youth activities, community events, and trainings. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. This individual is dependable, organized, resourceful, and committed to helping youth achieve brighter futures through the power of mentoring.
Pay:
$18.00 - $18.50 per hour
