This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA). Responsibilities 1
- Provide expert and proactive advising for students through the development of structured academic plans. The advisor will monitor students academic progress and provide interventions or referrals, as necessary. 2
- Provide career and academic advising services to students, utilizing career assessments related to career exploration and decision making. 3
- Communicate and interpret CCGA policies and procedures regarding general education requirements, graduation requirements, curriculum modifications, course adds/drops/withdrawals, etc. 4
- Collaborate with their supervisor and appropriate faculty to create relevant programming and events to ensure that accurate information is provided to students. 5
- Travel and provide advising at the Camden Center and participate in occasional evening and weekend activities as necessary. 6
- Facilitate resume, cover letter and job search skill development. 7
- Facilitate workshops, presentations, individual counseling sessions, and other relevant programs on topics related to career and academic development. 8
- Performs related work as required.
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Baccalaureate degree in counseling, education or a course of study related to the occupational field. Other Required Qualifications Must possess a current valid driver license with acceptable driving record and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report review. Knowledgeable of best practices regarding academic advising, resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, and job searching.
