SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Under the supervision of the Program Director or Program Administrator,, the Clinical Specialist I is responsible for theimplementation of program services, linking the assessment, design, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic interventions withthe purpose of achieving successful case outcome. Provision of on-call crisis response with 24/7 availability.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Clinical Specialist I Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting agency. Requires knowledge of an advanced type.

EXPERIENCEOne to four years of post-master's experienceOther (Specify): At least one year of full-time, clinically supervised progressive work experience inclusive of residency, internship, or practicum in the care or treatment of youth in a mental health or educational setting.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

REQUIREDGood verbal and written skill in therapeutic assessment and treatment, interviewing, recording and letter writing. Also able to assessfamily dynamics, strengths and weaknesses to appropriate match a participant with a potential home. Ability to work with challengingfamilies to improve their parenting skills. MHS must also support the commitment to preserving a participant's connection with theirfamily of origin. and reunification with biological family.
