Job description:

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Employment Specialists to join our team. This role is essential in supporting individuals, in their journey toward meaningful employment. The Employment Specialist will utilize their expertise in employment and labor law, workforce development, and social work to empower members through effective mentoring, training, and development. The hours for this position vary to accommodate to our members' schedules. Every other weekend and a minimum of 2 evenings a week are required. We are currently offering a $1,500 sign on bonus to eligible applicants. Duties The Employment Specialists will be responsible for the following: Transport members to and from their place of employment. Remain with the members at their employment facility for stand-by support and coaching as needed. Complete daily documentation per member, per shift on observations of members while at their community employment and detailing if goals were met based on PCPs. Identify members' skills, interests, and barriers to employment. Developing individualized employment plans that align with members' goals and abilities. Providing guidance on job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation. Collaborating with local employers to create job opportunities for members. Offering support and counseling when necessary while job coaching during the member's working hours. Mentoring members throughout the job placement process and beyond. Advocating for members' needs within the workplace and community settings. Requirements To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications: A minimum of 6 months experience working with individuals with disabilities or other field related experience. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent to apply. Must be at least 18 years of age or older to apply. Must be willing to undergo a background check. Must have a valid State of Iowa driver's license. Must be able to obtain a Class D Chauffeurs license upon hire. Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for helping others succeed.
