Adult Day Habilitation (ADH)

HCBS Supervisor Job Overview Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? As an Adult Day Habilitation (ADH) Professional , you will support and train individuals with disabilities to develop, maintain, and maximize their personal capabilities. In this role, you will empower clients through life skills training, personal growth, socialization, and engaging community outings.
Key Responsibilities Direct Support & Client Engagement:
Train, supervise, and assist clients with daily life skills, recreation, personal care, and social interactions. Actively engage clients in leisure and skill-building activities throughout your shift. Transport clients to community events and activities to promote inclusion and integration.
Compliance & Documentation:
Accurately complete daily service logs, PCSP goal progress, incident reports, seizure logs, and petty cash documentation within 24 hours. Record all medication administration on the Medication Administration Record (MAR). Ensure a clean, safe environment adhering to safety standards and emergency procedures.
Client Advocacy & Care:
Advocate for client choices and rights in alignment with their Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP). Use non-aversive behavior management techniques during behavioral or emergency situations. Maintain strict client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.
Teamwork & Professionalism:
Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and external partners. Maintain regular, punctual attendance and participate in staff meetings and required training sessions. Requirements:
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school education or equivalent; experience working with people with disabilities preferred. Must possess basic knowledge of the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) program. Must possess basic knowledge of computers and computer-based programs. Successfully complete the new hire orientation checklist. Satisfactory attend all required training by agency. Successfully complete the established medication administration training and observe pass medications accordingly. Satisfactory results on background checks pertaining to criminal and abuse registries. Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds without restrictions. Must have valid driver's license and personal auto insurance as required by the State of Iowa and be insurable under the company's insurance. Ability to travel at least 25% of the time and to work occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and/or events. Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the initial 30 days of employment, and actively maintain certification throughout employment.
