We are seeking a dedicated and driven Job Developer/Employment Specialist to join our team and support our clients in navigating the workforce with confidence and dignity. The ideal candidate is a dependable self-starter who takes pride in their work and enjoys helping others realize their potential and achieve success. This position will average 25-30 hours a week with the potential for more during busier times of the year. The successful candidate will have flexibility and expect to work weekdays as well as some evenings and weekends. Shift differential for direct hours after 5pm and an additional differential for weekend hours. Ability to meet deadlines is a must. The Job Developer/Employment Specialist plays a critical role in supporting individuals with disabilities, prepare for, secure, and retain meaningful employment. This position acts as a liaison between job seekers and employers, ensuring a successful match and sustainable employment outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of employment and labor laws, along with experience in workforce development and social work. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' skills, interests, and barriers to employment. Assist individuals with disabilities in identifying career interests and job goals. Provide one-on-one support with resume writing, job applications, and interview preparation. Actively seek out and develop job opportunities by building relationships with local employers and community partners. Advocate for clients by promoting their strengths and capabilities to potential employers. Facilitate job placements and follow up with both clients and employers to ensure job retention and satisfaction. Maintain detailed case notes and progress reports in accordance with organizational and funding requirements. Collaborate with vocational rehabilitation counselors, job coaches, and other support staff as needed. Provide one on one- on the job coaching to ensure client success Some travel required to support clients outside of Waterloo/Cedar Falls area Experience Associate's degree in Human Services , Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field preferred Two years experience working with individuals with disabilities, or in job placement/employment services Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills. Knowledge of local labor market and employment trends. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employers and clients. Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite, REQUIREMENTS:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to support job candidates living in counties within covered service areas: Black Hawk, Bremer, Butler, Buchannan, Ability to successfully complete Job Development and Job Coaching Training within six months of hire.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
