ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Student Engagement Specialist (Grant-Funded).
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the Student Engagement Specialist is a full-time, administrative position that operates as the point of contact to support students in exploring their academic interests and achieving successful completion of their degree or certificate programs via the Workforce Empowerment Initiative Grant. This position is responsible for helping students in the areas of academic advising, financial aid, registration, recruitment, career counseling, and other various student engagement services. The incumbent must have knowledge of student development, academic planning, and case management strategies. The Student Engagement Specialist will utilize the College's student information system to deliver direct services and coordinate with campus partners to promote student success. The Student Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and monitoring individualized academic and career plans for students. The position will also assist students in navigating college processes, resources, and support services. The Student Engagement Specialist will serve at various locations across the district as needed. This role is contingent upon the continued receipt of external funding.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree desired. One year experience in helping students in the areas of academic advising, financial aid, registration, recruitment, career counseling, or other various student engagement services preferred. Experience in higher education preferred. Excellent customer service, organizational and analytical skills, preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required and PeopleSoft preferred. A valid driver's license is required. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire. PAY Salary Grade 1 on the Administrative Pay Scale, ranging from $38,677 - $48,359.

WORK LOCATION
Primary office is located at the Wyvetter H. Younge Campus with district-wide responsibilities.
