Full Job Description Job Summary:

The Recovery Community Center of Joliet (RCCJ) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) to provide peer-based support to individuals impacted by substance use, mental health challenges, and homelessness. This is a great opportunity to be part of a grassroots recovery movement and make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

•MUST be enrolled for PRSS classes or have taken classes and completed internship for PRSS (Peer Recovery Support Specialist)

Key Responsibilities:

Provide peer support and mentorship through lived experience in recovery Facilitate one-on-one and group peer sessions Support clients with case management needs including housing, benefits, employment, and transportation Collaborate with community partners and treatment centers Maintain accurate records and participate in team check-ins Help plan and assist with community recovery events and graduation celebrations

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (required) Lived experience with recovery and/or behavioral health (required) CRSS certification or ability to obtain within 6 months (preferred) Reliable, empathetic, and community-focused Must be based in Will County or surrounding area
