CEFS Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program (WIOA) is hiring a full-time Career Planner for our Mattoon office. In this role, you will help individuals and families access employment, training, and support services that assist in securing and retaining employment. Through the Adult, Youth, Dislocated Worker, and TAA programs, you will play an important part in connecting people in your community with opportunities to build stronger futures.
What You'll Do Assessments & Planning:
Evaluate clients' skills, work experience, and educational background to determine their career goals.
Eligibility & Documentation:
Manage the paperwork to verify whether a client qualifies for WIOA services.
Training & Skill Development:
Help clients select educational or training providers, navigate financial assistance, and monitor their progress to ensure they are on track to succeed.
Overcoming Barriers:
Connect clients to supportive services (e.g., transportation assistance, childcare, or work attire) and refer them to external community resources when needed.
Job Placement & Follow-up:
Help clients with resume building, interview preparation, and job searching. After a client secures a job, conduct follow-ups for up to a year to ensure job retention and career progression. What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required Case management and/or relevant social work experience Strong computer, Microsoft Office, and data entry skills Valid driver's license Schedule & Pay/Benefits Monday through Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm Hourly wage: $18.49 - $.25 increase at 90 days of employment Health, dental, vision and life insurance Flex time, sick leave, and paid holidays, 403(b) retirement plan
